Mir haben die ersten Geschichten um Robert Langdon, den kongenialen Schriftgelehrten, unheimlich toll gefallen. Ein roter Faden, der sich durch die Geschichten zog und die Spannung kaum einmal zum Erliegen hat lassen kommen. Dann kam das letzte Buch "Inferno", mit dem ich mich schon etwas schwerer anfreunden konnte, weil es streckenweise fast langweilig war und auch die Gesamtgeschichte ein wenig sehr stark an den Haaaren herbeigezogen schien. Zudem waren manche Rätselelemente, für die diese Bücher ja gerade so berühmt sind, eher für die Masse der Leser uninteressant ( es sei denn, sie seien Hardcorefans von Dante). Wie auch immer, ich hatte gehofft, mit dem neuen Band würde Dan Brown wieder eine gute Robert-Langdon-Story gelungen sein...ist es aber absolut nicht! Ich quälte mich bereits mit Langeweile auf den ersten 60 Seiten und es wird leider auch bis zu Seite 100 noch nicht anders. Ich gebe es sehr ungerne zu, denn ich mag Brown und seinen Helden Langdon wirklich unheimlich gerne, aber ich habe schwer den Eindruck, es hat sich ausgelangdoned und dies wird (hoffentlich) das letzte Buch, damit man zumindest nicht mit noch mehr schlecht gestrickten Stories um ihn "bereichert" wird. Ich würde sie nicht mehr kaufen, ebensowenig, wie ich mir noch eine weitere Verfilmung ansehen würde (OMG war Inferno schlecht. Fast noch lahmer, als das Buch! Und das, obwohl doch Illuminati und Sakrileg noch so tolle Filme waren...ein Jammer um Tom Hanks).
It doesn't happen to me that often but I actually pulled an almost all-nighter for the last quarter. So I personally really liked it. The story does have some elements that are in all of browns books, e.g. all the tidbits about certain locations where the story takes place. Some might find that mundane, I think it's awesome because after having read every Langdon book, I can really say that I have learned quite a lot.The overarching topic of this book is more futuristic than usual and I thought that that was grand as I am kind of a tech geek but even if you're not, it should be fun anyways. And when you finally get to know about the findings at the end, I was fairly surprised that it was worth the wait. Enjoy this book, it is worth every penny.
DB tries to look into the future and offers some interesting ideas. However, his research far outreaches his literary skills so his characters are flat and simply vehicles to advance the story-line. Everything ends far to nicely and tidily for my taste. Ideas, today, are already mainstream before hone can research and write a book on such a subject.
I enjoyed this book as well as other from D. Brown.He is the master to make intriguing plot, as well as his attention to detail and ability to tell stories is unmatched.Why 4 stars? Despite of intriguing plot there was not so much excitement about the mysterious presentation from E. Kirsch, which was revealed in the end. It was too scientific I belive for many people, and it could be a bit more original or spicy.I would definitely recommend this book, a good value for money.
Vorliegender Titel kommt nicht annähernd an die ersten beiden Titel heran. Die Symbolrätsel spielen nur noch eine sehr untergeordnete Rolle. Alles ziemlich vorhersehbar - kaum Überraschungen, dazu eine schöne Frau, quasi als "Sahnehäubchen", das aber auch nix mehr rausreißt. Das Thema Robert Langdon ist ausgelutscht.
Ein Dan Brown Roman, der Geschichtliches, Philosophisches, Religion mit hochaktuellem globalen und digitalen Zeitgeschehen vernetzt. Packende, hochgescheite Lektüre - lassen Sie sich verführen! Gibt's als Taschenbuch oder in jeder Stadtbücherei.
I like Dan Brown. I like the way he writes and how he provokes you to think about his presumptions. And I like that he puts a lot of research into his work.Origin is another case for Robert Langdon which now leads him through Spain, trying to solve a puzzle that contains a lot of twists and turns and leaves you with a surprising though somehow foreseeable solution. Enjoy.
Die Qualität von Brown hat stark nachgelassen. Es scheint jetzt mehr um den Buchverkauf als die Story zu gehen. Eigentlich sehr schade.Hoffentlich bessert sich das bald, oder ich werde aufhöre DB zu lesen.
